Breastfeeding ‘Nurse In' at Trumbull Mall

"She was told by a security guard that she needed to cover up," nurse-in organizer Danielle Elwood said, "and at that point she felt really uncomfortable and she left the mall for the day."

Elwood organized the protest to raise awareness.

"I was outraged," she said. "I was really upset because moms shouldn't be made to feel uncomfortable."

And it is illegal. Connecticut is one of 44 states where it is against the law to restrict or prohibit breastfeeding in any way, including asking moms to cover up. But it's still controversial. Even advocates aren't always so keen on it. Elwood herself doesn't nurse her one-month old in the open.

Why the hell is this even necessary in these times? My wife uses a cover, but that's more for HER comfort not anyone else's. THIS IS ONE OF THE MOST FUCKING NATURAL THINGS WE DO! And some nutjobs take offense to that???

Fuck them!
