A 55-year-old Texas man faces charges of sexually molesting children after a young relative wrote a letter to Santa Claus asking him to stop the abuse as a Christmas gift to her.
The man was arrested after authorities were alerted to the letter written as a class project by a nine-year-old girl, the McAllen Monitor newspaper reported.
The girl pleaded with Father Christmas to put an end to the abuse, which she said was also occurring to her 10-year-old sister, the paper said.
It did not say how the man was related to the two girls.
The man, who has worked for the local school district for 11 years, allegedly abused one girl from 2004 to 2008 and the other from January to December, the criminal complaints said.
If convicted he could face at least 50 years in prison.
