Democrats agree to block Obama nominees

The move involves Senate leadership holding "pro-forma" sessions of the Senate every Monday and Friday to prevent Obama from filling vacant senior federal positions. By holding sessions every few days, Obama can't slip his nominees through.

What. The. Fuck.

I kind of hope these assholes do lose this November. My blood pressure can't handle the fact that these fuckers even pretend to be democrats, much less liberal...

Thank God The War Is FINALLY Over...

The final payment of £59.5 million, writes off the crippling debt that was the price for one world war and laid the foundations for another.

Germany was forced to pay the reparations at the Treaty of Versailles in 1919 as compensation to the war-ravaged nations of Belgium and France and to pay the Allies some of the costs of waging what was then the bloodiest conflict in history, leaving nearly ten million soldiers dead.

I mean, who knows how Germany would respond if these disproportionate reparations continued?

Housekeeper Nicky Diaz: Meg Whitman Treated Me Like a Piece of Garbage

California gubernatorial candidate Meg Whitman today found herself battling allegations that she knowingly employed an undocumented immigrant housekeeper, failed to pay a portion of her wages and then fired her in an act of political damage control.

The charges come a little over a month before the November election.

What a hypocritical piece of shit!

owner of Segway firm dies in freak accident after riding one of his two-wheel machines off a cliff

I hate to laugh at someone's death, but this silly machine was overhyped - particularly by him - as The Future Of Transportation.

Just a tad ironic...

NBC May Spurn Apple, but Netflix is Cool

More than 75 episodes of Syfy’s Battlestar Galactica as well as Destination Truth and Eureka will now be available on the service, as well as the USA series Psych, In Plain Sight and Monk. This also renews the deal to distribute past seasons of 30 Rock, The Office and Saturday Night Live. And big news on the latter show: New SNL episodes will be available on Netflix the day after broadcast for the 2010, 2011 and 2012 seasons.

One more reason to buy a Roku or two!

Gibbs on DADT: 'We'll keep trying'

Gibbs lamented the Republican filibuster that stopped the measure, saying that "60 is the new 50, and I don't mean age."

Uhm, they didn't filibuster. As usual, they threatened to filibuster.

Big difference.

Here's a novel idea: show some fucking leadership! If the Shrub could ramrod his crap through with even a lesser margin, then something is not quite right in this department...

Christine O’Donnell In Oct. 1999: ‘I Dabbled Into Witchcraft’

I dabbled into witchcraft — I never joined a coven. But I did, I did. … I dabbled into witchcraft. I hung around people who were doing these things. I’m not making this stuff up. I know what they told me they do. [...]

One of my first dates with a witch was on a satanic altar, and I didn’t know it. I mean, there’s little blood there and stuff like that. … We went to a movie and then had a midnight picnic on a satanic altar.

I missed Bill Maher...

New radio show for former Gov. John Rowland

John Rowland will join a long list of former politicians and political operatives in the media when he begins a daily show on WTIC AM radio.

Rowland, and his minister friend, Pastor Will Marrotti apparently passed the audition back in July and will begin co-hosting the 3 to 6 p.m. time slot Thursday in an issue oriented talk show called “Church and State.”

Seriously? One of the most powerful AM stations in the northeast and THIS is the best talent you can come up with???

You had a successful liberal guy for years that you dumped. Now he's doing gangbusters at NPR.

Is this all a strategy to make sure that the station is THE single most politically lopsided one in the state? Limbaugh and Hannity aren't enough? Even still, a failed ex-Governor/felon is the best conservative talent you could find?

Oh, and this appears to be a rich preview of the moralistic pontification we can expect from this show:

He says he has great empathy for Hartford Mayor Eddie Perez and what his family is now facing following his sentencing on corruption Tuesday. But says his indiscretions and those of Bridgeport Mayor Joe Ganim were really much worse than his.

In other words, "yeah, I'm a douche bag. But he's a bigger one."

Sounds riveting.

At least with XM, I don't need to dial into WTIC to hear the Red-Sox anymore...

Buying a House? Read The Fine Print!

Someone selling a home for $500,000, for example, would have to pay the original developer $5,000. If the home sold again two years later for $750,000, the second seller would have to pony up $7,500 to the developer, and so on. Even if a home declines in value, the seller still must pay the 1 percent fee.

Seriously WTF???

Cataclysm Begins

Both in-game events involve players of all levels, but only those between 75 and 80 will be able to take part in the final push to reclaim territory before World of Warcraft's next expansion pack, Cataclysm, is released before the end of the year.

This happened on Tuesday, but I only finally got around to posting it.

In reality, the gnome quest line was a bit lame and bugged at a few points, while the troll one seemed a bit more polished.

Despite that, however, it was exciting to finally get some new content and to see a signal that cataclysm is finally coming.

I wonder how frequently we'll see changes from here on out. Will it be weekly? Will it always come with some form of in-game announcement (like the message sent this last time)? I doubt it on both of those fronts, but will be remain enthusiastic that it is at least on its' way!

Fox won’t cover Koran-burning; AP to block pictures

Good.

Stop giving these idiots the attention they crave.

It's the same thing with baseball...You never see them highlight the idiot that runs on the field.

Gov. Barbour's civil rights fairy tale

Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour, who may seek the Republican nomination for president, is trying to sell the biggest load of revisionist nonsense about race, politics and the South that I've ever heard. Ever.

He has the gall to try to portray Southern Republicans as having been enlightened supporters of the civil rights movement all along. I can't decide whether this exercise in rewriting history should be described as cynical or sinister. Whichever it is, the record has to be set straight

And there are idiot who will believe him...

Beck guest host Doc Thompson kicks off Labor Day show: "Happy socialism day!"

If they really hate labor and labor day so much, why the fuck are all these assholes taking the day off and having fill-in guests?

This just shows that they either A) don't believe what they preach, or B) are LAZY worthless corporatists...

119 Ways to Store and Organize Your Cats

LOL!

Why buy an Apple TV when Roku players already do it all and more?

Along with all the music related iPod announcements made by Apple today, they also revealed the next generation Apple TV. At first I was amazed by the small size, ability to stream Netflix, and more. I then took a deeper look into the functionality for the $99 Apple TV and discovered I already had that and more in the cheaper Roku HD and don’t know why I would want to buy an Apple TV instead.

Yep. I love all three of my Roku's.

The only benefit I see from the apple box is the easier integration with iTunes on my desktop mac.

However, the Roku already does WAY more than the Apple one. Also, you will always be beholden to Steve Jobs personal whims with the Apple box (e.g. no flash support on apple portables, draconian control of all applications in the app store). Development for the Roku is quite open and I've enjoyed playing with a bunch of "private" channels offered to the overall Roku community. Some of those went on to become officially sanctioned channels because of the quality of their development.

I always welcome competition to any market, but this is one long-time Apple fanboy that is not impressed. For now, I am not willing to spend money on a product that doesn't even do what has been available in my house for quite some time already...

Glenn Beck's George Washington Whopper

The Fox host says he held the inaugural address of the famously truthful founding father. Yeah right, says the National Archives.

Man, that guy is freakin' nuts!
